If i-e crashes with all the add-ons turned off, you'll need to reset it. i then re-enabled all the other browser add-ons.
in my case it was something called "norton confidential browser." after i disabled it, internet explorer started working normally, with no more of those dreaded ".has stopped working" messages. click on the add-on you want to turn off, then click disable, and then click ok.) i disabled each browser add-on individually until i found the one causing internet explorer to crash. If you work reaaly fast first, type in recovery in a search bar on internet explrer as this was the only area I could type something without it resetting! Then quickly open the windows icon and paste in recovery and search. So I went in to the tech guys where I purchased my laptop told them the problem they said to restore factory settings by pressing f10 when the laptop starts this wouldnt function either so I went in to internet explorer I could open that program alright, then found a solution to my problem.
I tried all the "solutions" people had here but to no avail. I thought I cleared them then restarted the computer and that most annoying icon kept flashing up "windows explorer has stopped working". had it for 2 weeks then the last day warnings popped up on my screen about viriuses and trojans detected on my laptop.
